Abstract

In September 2020, Jambi City experienced inflation of 0.13 percent and Muara Bungo City had inflation of 0.02 percent. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Jambi City was 104.07 and the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Muara Bungo City was recorded at 104.27.
Inflation in Jambi City occurred in 4 (four) expenditure groups. Meanwhile, inflation in Muara Bungo City occurred in 5 (five) groups of goods and services expenditures due to an increase in the index.
The inflation rates for calendar year1 and year on year 2 for Jambi City this month were 0.99 percent and 1.11 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, the inflation rate for calendar year and “year on year” for Muara Bungo City this month amounted to 0.71 percent and 0.06 percent respectively.
Of the 24 cities in Sumatra that calculated the CPI, 13 (thirteen) cities experienced inflation and 11 (eleven) cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation in Sumatra occurred in Gunung Sitoli City at 1.00 percent and the lowest in Pekanbaru City at 0.01 percent. Of the 90 cities that calculated the CPI in Indonesia, 34 (thirty four) cities experienced inflation and 56 (fifty six) cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Kota Gunung Sitoli at 1.00 percent, while the highest deflation occurred in Kota Timika at 0.83 percent.
