Abstract

In August 2020, Jambi City and Muara Bungo City experienced inflation, respectively 0.03 percent and 0.06 percent. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Jambi City was 103.94 and Muara Bungo City was recorded at 104.25.
Inflation in Jambi City occurred in 8 (eight) expenditure groups. Meanwhile, in Muara Bungo City, inflation occurred in 7 (seven) categories of goods and services expenditures due to an increase in the index.
The inflation rates for calendar year1 and year on year 2 for Jambi City this month were 0.86 percent and 0.55 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, the inflation rate for calendar year and “year on year” for Muara Bungo City was 0.69 percent and -0.92 percent respectively in August 2020.
Of the 24 cities in Sumatra that calculated the CPI, 16 (sixteen) cities experienced inflation and 8 (eight) cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation in Sumatra occurred in Meulaboh City at 0.88 percent and the lowest was in Batam City at 0.02 percent.
Of the 90 cities that calculated the CPI in Indonesia, 37 (thirty seven) cities experienced inflation and 53 (fifty three) cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Meulaboh with 0.88 percent. Meanwhile, the highest deflation occurred in Kupang City at 0.92 percent.
